External SD card download problems - Error 492

If you are on Android 5+, the latest version of EZ Usenet supports SD cards natively. In Settings->Preferences, select "Use Android Storage Framework". If you are on an Android 4.4, please read below.

Some of you have noticed EZ Usenet will no longer download to your external SD card after you upgraded Android to 4.4.  Google has changed the way Android handles SD cards which makes 3rd party apps like EZ Usenet not able to save there anymore. The majority of the users experiencing this problem are running Samsung devices such as the Galaxy S3,S4,S4, Note 2, Note 3, etc.

Please follow the instructions below for a work-around.

Step 1: Open the File Manager that ships with your phone.  If you are on Samsung, this is called "My Files".

Step 2: Navigate to the path /storage/extSdCard/Android/data

Step 3: Create the folder com.chillaxing.easynews in this folder

Step 4: Open EZ Usenet and goto the Settings.  Select the Download Folder.

Step 5: Navigate to the folder you just created in Step 3.

Step 6: That's it! All downloads will goto this folder. After the download has completed, you'll have to use your File Manager (My Files) to move the file to whatever folder you want.
